Gond or edible gum is the generic name, in India, for many types of natural gums obtained from plants.
Gond katira or Tragacanth gum is one such edible natural gum which is the dried sap obtained from the roots & stems of several species of the genus Astralagus, mainly, Astralagus gummifer.
It is an odorless and tasteless gum, white to yellow brown in color.
